The idea of A Colorful Collection came to Nicole during her junior year of college in her Women and Gender Studies class after reflecting on her experiences growing up Filipina-American. She is passionate about promoting inclusive spaces that celebrate diverse voices, with a strong commitment to social justice and storytelling.

In her free time, she enjoys camping, reading, and visiting coffee shops!

  • University of Michigan B.A. Psychology

Janelle is involved with the Philippine Arts and Culture Ensemble of Michigan and was formerly involved with the Filipino American Student Association at UofM.

She loves working with children and families through her Parenting Time Supportive Services job with Orchards Children’s Services. She plans to get a Master of Social Work next year.

Janelle enjoys spending time with her loved ones, doing arts and crafts, and discovering new restaurants and coffee shops!

  • University of Michigan B.S. Public Health Sciences | Boston University Master’s in Medical Sciences & Master’s in Public Health

Hillary is passionate about advocating for public health and social justice. Her interests include sexual assault prevention, children’s health, and addressing systemic inequities in education and healthcare.

She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Public Health & Master’s in Medical Sciences at Boston University to engage in research to expand her impact in these areas.

Hillary enjoys cooking, baking, trying different cuisines, and exploring new hobbies in her free time!

  • Nina will graduate in Winter 2025 with a B.S. in Applied Exercise Science from the University of Michigan. She looks forward to pursuing her passion for healthcare after graduation, hoping to work in spaces that promote long-term well-being and health equity, especially in pediatric care.

Nina is deeply interested in how culture, identity, and community shape experiences- a key inspiration for her contribution to ACC. With a love for books, she values storytelling as a powerful way to uplift diverse voices and lived experiences.

In her free time, Nina loves to travel (her favorite country so far is South Africa), spend time outdoors, try new recipes, and explore new activities (she’s currently learning ballet!)
